Mrs. Nigeria uses its platform to stand up for women. The Nigerian beauty pageant which focuses on married women over 30 uses it’s platform to stand up for women with march for women.
“The rate of child sexual molestation, rape, gender-based violence, kidnapping, and abuse of innocent women and children have become unbearable.
We can’t continue to watch these vampires suck the life out of people on a daily basis.
We condemn these barbaric acts and we call on all and sundry to join us as we match against all forms of sexual assault, GBV and abuse against innocent and vulnerable people.
We must win this war against humanity!”
The march is scheduled to hold on the 15th of May 2021 with the meeting point at Kobis Kitchen, Admiralty way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria from 10 am. The march will raise awareness for women’s issues and gender-based oppression.
Mrs Nigeria Participants are expected to be part of the march in lieu of their upcoming pagent scheduled for the 16th May 2021 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Mrs. Nigeria is a beauty competition aimed at choosing the most honorable and beautiful married woman between the ages of 25-45 who are involved in significant humanitarian causes. It focuses on nurturing and promoting unity and peace through the advancement of dynamic cultural values.
2021’s Mrs. Nigeria honors Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
