Racism at Riverside Pageant. Miss Riverside Pageant Tiny Tots Division made international headlines when a judge made an unsavory comment about a four-year-old contestant.
The mother of the tender contestant, Ms. Fletcher of Craighead county called out the judge. She noted that her objection was about Charleigh Bullock’s skin hue which should not be an issue in a fair competition.
The school and the judge apologized. Mrs. Fletcher said she had to speak out for other little girls and ladies judged only because of their skin hues.
“Her ethnicity should never have come in,” Ms. Fletcher emphasized.
