MISS PLANET INTERNATIONAL 2022 is holding in Uganda on the 6th – 20th of November 2022.
Hurrah!! Uganda is set to hold its very first huge international event some hours from now. Participants from over 65 countries are expected to be in Uganda. Oh, Lala! This mega event will inspire young girls in the country.
The pageant was created by Halley Amin and Pedro Francisco in Cambodia. It is part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Agenda. Eligible contestants must be between 18 and 29 years old.
The newly crowned Miss Planet Uganda, Cynthia Achieng is one of the contestants. The goal of the pageant is to promote the tenets of the United Nations which have to do with peace in the world, reduction of the world poverty level, promotion of the value of women and children, and general safety of the planet for everyone to live in and thrive.
The first winner of the pageant is Monique Best of South Africa who was crowned in Cambodia in 2019. She has been the reigning queen since then because of the COVID-19 pandemic which pushed the event to 2022. She has been a wonderful queen who visited many schools and countries contributing to the betterment of their communities.
Nineteen-year-old Monique Best of South Africa beat 39 other beauties to wear the crown in Cambodia in 2019. This year, the contest is keener with more than 65 countries in contention.
