Namibia’s first female president, Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah emerged yesterday, After votes were counted. She won almost sixty percent of the total votes, while her opponent managed to get a little over twenty-five percent. So Netumbo was declared winner, thus making history as Africa’s second, elected female president.

The first and most recent development of Namibia’s female president was when she became vice-president in February. Apart from this previous position, Netumbo has served the country as a minister, senator, law maker and ambassador. We are right to say that Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah is a career politician.
In addition and most important of all, Namibia’s first female president was a fighter for Namibia’s independence since teenage. Plus she is a member of SWAPO since her youth, joining the group in Zambia when she was in exile.
Therefore when Namibia got freed, it was only natural for Ms. Nandi to come back home. She had to contribute to building Namibia to greatness and she has. Netumbo proposed and pursued a law protecting women against domestic violence. That is her favourite achievement and though her achievements are numerous, we shall celebrate her education.
Namibia’s first female president, Netumbo had her primary and secondary education in Namibia. But her higher education was in Europe where she attained a diploma and a degree in technology and international relations respectively.
In conclusion , Netumbo is expected to take Namibia to an enviable level before the end of her tenure. And Netumbo feels capable to achieve greater goals than her predecessors.
Congratulations everyone, we got another female president before many western countries. Please drop a heart for her in the comments section below.
