Hamamat Montia of Ghana was Miss Malaika 2006 and Model of Africa Universe in 2007. She is now a successful business woman in her hometown Bolgatanga, Ghana.

What Caught our Interest?

First, this woman would be thirty-seven years old in July. However, she caught our attention because we see her as a symbol of inspiration. She rose to the height of comfort, got right down to the bottom and started afresh.

Here is a summary of her story:

When Hamamat Montia was sixteen years old, she became a model and by eighteen, she was a national title holder. And that title came with fame and money, an intoxicating combination for a teenager who came from nothing.

Then she got the opportunity of a life time to be part of an international pageant, Model of Africa Universe. Then Hamamat Montia of Ghana won and became the darling of several international brands. Then fame, exotic locations and the top designers she hobnobbed with were beyond her dreams. Money was no longer a problem for the young lady.

Then she met Versa Keskinen, a Finnish billionaire who was thirty years her senior The relationship was great at the beginning, till they went to Finland. . According to her, he became an physically, oppressing monster.

Causing her run back to Ghana but Versa was not done with her and accused her of theft. The case was settled after two years but Ms. Montia was back to zero. She had quit her modeling job when she ran away and had to start afresh. Of course the international jobs were not available in Bolgatanga and she started a brand new industry.

Restoration:-

Hamamat Montia of Ghana had her children to feed and resumed the sheabutter trade of her people. However, she targeted the international space and made a hit. Clients came from all around the globe to do business with her.

And that, ladies and gentlemen is how Ms Montai became synonymous with sheabutter internationally, rising to great success.
