That beautiful track champion, tagged Favour Ofili the record breaker seems too big a title right? But two days ago at Adidas Atlanta City Games, she broke the world 150m record in 15.85 secs.

However, she caught world attention when she won gold with Tobi Amusan in the relay race at the 2024 Olympics.
However, her track career was full blown in 2018 at the African Youth Games in Algiers where she won gold. Then by 2019, she won two gold medals at the African Youth Championships for 200m and 400m respectively.

Next came her win in the African Games in 2019, winning gold and silver medals for relay race and 400m race. World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi 2021 at age eighteen, where she won gold and bronze medals.


Also at the Commonwealth Games, Favour Ofili the record breaker won a silver medal in Birmingham. However, her trail of successes began with her secondary school coach, Anne Otutu who believed in her potential. That belief encouraged her to train hard until she made the team to race in the African Games.

After that outing , Favour moved on to Port Harcourt under the training of George Obiano. From where she raced and won 4*400m, 400m medals between 2019-2022. Before finally resuming school in the USA and represented Nigeria at the Olympics.
And now she has set a new world record in 150m. Can we applaud this star girl as she is fondly called in the comments section please?
