Historic! 1st RU MW 2025 is Ethiopia!!! For the second time, Ethiopia is Miss World Africa. First in 2003 when the country was 9th and now in 2025. Come on people! Who saw that coming? All the guess work and rumours never work. You just end up with HBP for nothing.

So, congratulations Ethiopia. Congratulations to our 19 years old, upcoming engineer. The tension was real, considering that only six other Africans had those slots to fit into. And several of them did not make the top five at the different challenges. South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, to be exact. We could see their beauty and expected so much, but they were absent from the challenge winners’ lists.

Besides, believe it or not, some of us did not eat or sit still throughout the event. However, when we saw Namibia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Tunisia and Martinique in the Top 20, we began to relax a little. We had hope and when Ethiopia won first runner-up, our office erupted and we popped champagne.

It is historic 1st RU MW is Ethiopia. The country of beautiful women and legendary queen of Sheba finally clinched the title of Miss Africa. And about time too. 72nd Miss World pageant finally got Ethiopia another feather in their cap.

By the way, did you hear the rumours making the rounds just before the after the Top 20 was announced? Rumours spread that India won the title and celebrations had started. Maybe people figured out the crown would come to Asia and assumed India was their best bet. Or someone heard something about Asia winning. Just maybe.

Anyway, Hasset Dereje Admassu, the Ethiopian engineer won and so did Aurielie Joachim of Martinique. And we are excited and victorious.
