STILL ON MW 2025 AND AFRICANS

Still on MW 2025 and Africans, we are impressed that Cameroon made their highest placement so far. As close as the eleventh place, as against 15th place in 2024. Besides she, Issie Princesse was giving everyone else a run for their money. She won the Multi-media Challenge Africa and Miss Talent Challenge Africa.

As for Cote D’ivoire, Fatoumata Coulibaly was first runner-up Africa, Top Model Challenge. However, the country did not place now nor in 2023, nor 2024. Since Ms Yace made second runner-up in 2021, our sister country has not made a placement. Maybe the queens are trying too hard or have not found out what Olivia Yace did differently.

With bated breaths we waited for one of Africa’s favourites to get a placement but it was in vain. However, she made it to the top 10 of the Head to head challenge, was Africa’s winner for Best Designer Dress and Top 5 in Multi Media Challenge.

And for the first time since 2016-2025, South Africa did not place in the Miss World pageant. During the one of the activities, sending a message with a dove, she was selected to do it. A sure sign that she, Zoalise Jansen van Rensburg stood out? So what happened after that?

Meanwhile, Namibia’s Selma Kamanya was everywhere, winning or topping every activity. Africa’s Top Model, Top 40 Sports Challenge. Selma was also first runner-up Africa Head to head Challenge, second runner-up Multi-media Challenge. And the icing on the cake, 5th runner-up Miss World 2025. Amazing outing for Namibia with Ms Kamanya since 1991 when they placed 7th. And kudos to those who selected her last minute for Namibia.

Ladies and gentlemen, she was Miss Namibia 2018 and Miss Universe Namibia 2018. And though she did not place in Thailand that December, she took home some lessons and came to the Miss World pageant with a sweet vengeance. Look we were expecting her to be the next Miss World Africa but we are proud of her.

Redissi Lamis

Still on MW 2025 and Africans, we close this edition of this topic with another offset in the person of Lamis Redissi of Tunisia. She broke the MW placement record for Tunisia which was last placed in 1957! Sixty-eight years after, Lamis made a difference. She won 27th place out of 108 ladies in the Talent Challenge. And of course she scored other points at the pageant to make her historic win.

Guys let us continue tomorrow. Meanwhile, do you now agree that the girls have taken the pageant to a whole new level? Type yaaaaaaaaayyyyyy in the comments section below if you agree.
