Meanwhile, the winner of Miss Grand International 2024/5, Rachel Gupta resigned ten days ago. Because her resignation came during the Miss World pageant, many of us might have missed it. Or misunderstood the news.
The Exit:-
So on the morning of 28th May 2025, Miss Grand 2024/5 winner from India, Rachel Gupta resigned. Rachel has been reign queen for seven months. She took to her Instagram handle to let her fans know that she has resigned for several reasons. And here they are below.
Reasons for Resigning:-
The first reason is that several of the promises made were broken. Ms. Gupta did not explain the particular promises which the Miss Grand Organization broke.
Secondly, Rachel Gupta resigned because she was mistreated. Again, the beautiful lady was not specific about how she was mistreated.
And the third reason is what she says is a toxic environment which she can no longer endure. She said that in the days following the IG post, she would post videos to show evidence of her torture. Since then however, she has not posted any videos.
MGI Response:-
On the other handu, the MGI organization has said they had dethroned Ms Gupta first. That it was thirty minutes after they sacked her, she came to announce resignation on Instagram. In a viral video, Mr. Nawat went on to say other unprintable about their chosen queen. And netizens are not happy with him.
Furthermore, he threatened the director of Miss Universe India, saying 2025 would be his last year. The connection of the two is still unclear. At least apart from the fact that Nawat owns franchise of Miss Universe Thailand, that is.
Anyway, Christine Julian Opiaza has since been chosen to replace her. And Rachel Gupta took time out to advise and congratulate her on her installation.
As we close, we wish the new queen the very best of the remaining five months 2024/5. However, we can not help counting how many queens sacked since November 2024 after this edition.
