OBA ADEYEYE OGUNWUSI

More heartwarming news from Nigeria, West Africa, from the royal family of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. Queen Folashade gave birth to a baby boy last week. If you remember, two years ago, we celebrated the marriage of the Oba to six different women including Queen Folashade. Between September and October 2022, he married six of them.

And now it seems as if the children are going to be born in quick succession as well. The king of Ife is able to sustain them all anyway, so there is no reason to fret on his behalf.

As we were saying, the Ooni announced the birth of his first son by the dazzling, ebony queen Ashley Folashade, his fourth wife. Her child was born five months after the third wife, Queen Tobi Phillips gave birth to a set of fraternal twins.

Back in March, the king took to his social media handle to celebrate the twins, giving glory to God. We remember that the good-looking custodian of Yoruba ancestral home, attended a church service shortly after his coronation in 2015. Thus stirring up a heated debate about what being a custodian of their traditions entails.

However, when Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, publicly glorified God in March 2024, there was none of the expected fuss. An indication of the peace and blessings that come with bearing twins in Yoruba culture. So after weeks of merriment at the birth of the twins, celebrations continue with this recent addition.

Furthermore, though Queen Folashade’s son was born five months after the twined son, she refers to her newly born son as the crown Prince. In their culture, every son is thus addressed. Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi’s queen further shares that she has been trying for children with the king for over ten years and even suffered the miscarriage of a set of twins when the pregnancy was only fourteen weeks old.

To end our celebration and commiseration post, we are expecting a succession of births. A ripple effect similar to the addition of wives. What do you guys think? Do share in the comments section below.
