It is that time of the year again, when a new Miss Black America will be crowned. Miss Black America is a beauty pageant which was initiated in 1986 by Ms. Karen Arrington . The aim of the pageant is to provide scholarship for young women of African descent to during their university education.

In between that year till now in 2023, there have been a few years when there was no pageant at all. At a few other times, the winner was replaced or the winning reversed.

In spite of these issues, the pageant has survived for almost forty years and been a blessing to numerous young ladies from all over the United States. This year, the expectations have not diminished. Neither has the excitement.

Once again, thirty beautiful, young queens from all over America will be competing for a scholarship and beauty. We can say with confidence that Miss Black USA began the trend of beauty with brains and purpose.
