Bankable Tyra Banks, a model , author, entrepreneur, actress and graduate of Harvard University graced the 60th anniversary cover of Sports Illustrated May 2024. She was actually the first ever African to feature on the cover of the magazine back in 1997.

To start with, Tyra Lynne Banks began modelling at age fifteen after rejection by over five agencies. After high school education at Immaculate Heart High School, she became a full time model. And was one of the few black models who achieved supermodel status.

Also, at age twenty, Lynne featured in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Acting up to 2013 when she played in Glee. At age thirty, she already had her own show for models called America’s Next Top Model which ran for twelve years-2003 to 2015 to be exact.

At practically the same time, The Tyra Banks show produced by her Bankable Productions company, was on. However, it ran for five years 2005-2010. Tyra has modelled with all the top brands of the world.

Furthermore, Banks has also written two books; one of which she co-authored. She has also received several awards in all the fields she ventured into. Is she an achiever or what? A legend? An icon? All three? Share your choice in the comments section below.
