Annette Addo-Yobo is Miss Texas 2024/5. She has won several local beauty pageant titles before this one. So she was crowned on Sunday the 30th of June 2024. Annette has made history in Texas. For the first time, a first generation immigrant Ghanaian is Miss Texas. Sisters, she got the Texan title for all of us.
Who is Annette Addo-Yobo?
Before we go further, let us share a little about this shining ebony beauty. Annette is born of Ghanaian parents who relocated to the United States of America to live the American dream. Addo-Yobo and her family initially migrated from Ghana to Canada. After they gained citizenship, they moved to America and gained American citizenship. And settled in America.
Apart from gaining serial citizenship, Annette Addo-Yobo has gained solid education. She has a degree that qualifies her to study and work with children who may have depressive disorders. Addo-Yobo also plans to obtain a Law degree while she is participating in pageants and taking care of her mother and brother.
Continuing the typical African amazonic streak, one can say that Annette is a young matriarch. She is caring for a mother with Alzheimer’s, a brother who is autistic and studying. In fact, she is mother and father of her mother and of her brother. Then, she prepared for beauty pageants and succeeded. Better still, made history as the first African-migrant beauty queen.
