BARBADOS IS DENOUNCING THE QUEEN AS THEIR HEAD OF STATE.

What does courage resonate as to you? I mean, it takes a lot for a country to choose to be independent, responsible for her citizens as well as uphold her duties and functions to her people. It is one thing to be affiliated with a country but it is another to choose to stand as a Republic and Barbados, a former British colony just made that tough call by dissolving a strong bond with nearly 400 years history with the United Kingdom since the first English ship arrived at the Caribbean island.

And here is what you should know…

Barbados is an island country in the west indies and is known for a number of amazing things and sites including their unrivaled history of having the most unique white sand beaches, pure and clean water and let’s not forget that they have an amazing culture of allowing weddings to take place on the same day of your arrival into the island provided you submit the accurate documents (so just in case you desire a quick and classy wedding here is your go-to destination!).

Amidst all these, the citizens of this island have never really had it easy, they not only struggle for the basic necessities other factors including freedom and justice seems to hang on the line for them too. Following the campaign on Black Lives Matter, Barbados wasn’t left out as they made a decision that best suit their country and this decision was the first in the last 30 years!

SANDRA MASON- The New Head of State with the Queen

The Prime Minister Mia Mottley, the first woman to hold that position said in her speech “This is the ultimate statement of confidence in who we are and what we are capable of achieving” some strong words and affirmations right! Barbados is set to be a Republic on the 30th of November 2021 with Sandra Mason as the new Head of state.

We are not only proud of this country; we are also rooting for them on their new journey!
