Celebrated Nigerian actress and model, Rita Dominic has become the new CEO of the Miss Nigeria Pageant. Stepping into shoes that fit. She was one of the first models of Face of Delta Soap back in the nineties.

The Miss Nigeria Pageant dates as far back as 1957 when it started as a photo contest. Contestants were shortlisted and then invited for the physical contest at the Lagos Island Club. The first winner Grace Oyelude went on to the UK to study nursing with the money won. At the time, a newspaper Daily Times of Nigeria owned the franchise.

The pageant has been through turns and upheavals in over six decades of its existence. Falling flat out of circulation at one time, fluttering back up, changing ownership and going out of circulation again.

Hopefully an experienced, talented and expert beauty like Rita Dominic is the tonic to give it the flight and soaring height it deserves.
