The IQ of 138 is not just what makes Declan a genius for some of us. It is how flawlessly and easily she relates with everything that may be tasking to us because of that gift.

How can a six year old say her best part of school is a force in motion?! When did many of us last hear that? Let us put it truthfully, did we or did we not wince at that topic? The young lady added that she loved mathematics, science, geography and the Arts.

She is in kindergarten or what some education systems in Africa and the Caribbean called nursery class. Yet she was working way beyond her designated class which is what we would call primary three.

This is the stage in learning math when we are blinking at the long division problems on the board and hoping that a miracle would interrupt the lesson. Declan is comfortable with it all. Her word of preference is actually “interested in”.

Ms. Declan Lopez slides from physics to literature without a pause. And then onto History and even the first African woman to win the Wimbledon title. Conversation with her would be a delight. These ease of abilities make her genius.

The IQ of 138 is much more than the average human. Her mother wants her to joke and make mistakes. How can that be possible when her level of intelligence is so high? Expecting mistakes? Mum, not possible. She was born careful.
