MELANIN FLAVOURED MISS WORLD 2022/3

Truth be said, looking at the general outing of the melanin queens at Miss World 2022/3, one must admit we had it better than many years before this. We commend the queens and the judges. Several Africans were placed in this particular pageant.

The first pruning was the selection of the top forty. Over forty percent of this group, were Africans in diaspora and from the homeland. And they came in different hues of melanin.

Again, we had a great outing. Next came the top eight. We made forty percent of the top eight! Three Africans in the top eight! Well done ladies. Miss World Uganda, Hannah Karema, pleasantly surprised many snagging a space in the top eight position.

Though we missed the title by whiskers, the ladies deserve their flowers. They flew those flags high and made history on Saturday night of the 9th of March. All those girls were on fire. Brilliant, athletic and beautiful.

Remember what we said about Miss World Botswana, Chombo Lesogo. That lawyer came in shooting from the hips from the get go. The Nigerian queen, Ada Eme was not slacking either. South African, Young Zimbabwean, Nokutenda Shekina Marumbwa gave a great report of herself with the awards she won.

Miss World Tunisia, Amen Mehrzi won the Miss Talent award. Her voice was distinct, incredible and touched the soul. And yes, they all made the top forty. Even debutante Miss World Togo, Chiméne Moladja, went home with a Top Model award.

Finally, we have the best African design from Miss World Ethiopia, Rgat Afewerki Ybrah. Ms Ybrah’s outfit was dazzling and regal.

These queens garnered awards. Let us not translate those awards to the gifts and cash they received. They are mouth-watering. Plus the opportunities to cut juicy deals.

As we congratulate these ladies, what did you learn from anyone of them? Please share in the comments section below.
