So it is April eighth again, World Pageant Day. We get to celebrate all women of African descent, at home and in diaspora who have taken part in any beauty pageant. These women were bold enough to strut the global stage.

They hail from Haiti to France, from Egypt to South Africa to Barbados and Kenya to Ghana and Angola. All the corners of the globe have women of African descent, who have not only taken part in beauty pageants but actually won international titles.

Miss World, Miss Supranational, Miss Planet, none is daunting for these brave women.

Also, we celebrate the organizers who do everything within their pplmeans to make these pageants pleasant memories for the contestants and the audience.
