MISS WORLD 2022/23 PAGEANT POSTPONED AGAIN

Once again the Miss World Pageant organizers have postponed the event earlier slotted for December 2023, to March 3rd 2024. The postponement is as a result of the Indian elections going from now to beyond December 2023.

This completes a full year since the expected initial date of January 2023. That means Miss World 2021/22, Karolina Bielawska is heading to being the next longest reigning Miss World after Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica, Miss World 2019/20. Whose long reign was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this point, one wonders who is doing a poor job at choosing a host country for the event. What happened to the idea of having the country of the reigning queen hosting the pageant?

After the first mistake of choosing a country with bans on citizens of certain countries, one would have expected the organizers of this prestigious event to do a better job of choosing a host country. Just because a country lobbied, is not a guarantee to give them hosting rights.

Is it fair of the Miss World Pageant organizers to the ladies who have been preparing since 2022? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
