REFILWE LEDWABA OF S.A. IS FIRST AFRICAN FEMALE TO FLY CHOPPERS

A B.sc in Chemical Engineering was not enough for Refilwe Ledwaba. She boarded her first flight and fell in love with flying. She went on to become the first ever African woman helicopter pilot.

The B.Sc holder took the first step to achieving her goal by taking up employment with South Africa Airways after her degree as a cabin crew.

That was not enough for the young lady. She wanted to be at the flight controls. So, she continued to send out training applications all over the world. The South African Police force took notice and offered to sponsor the much needed training. Her passion and enthusiasm could not be ignored.

And so as they say, the rest is history. The first ever African woman helicopter pilot came to be. Another inspiration to our young girls all over the world.

Do post a thumbs up in the comments section in appreciation of Refilwe Ledwaba of South Africa.
