TRAILBLAZER 30TH H.P. BOWS TO PRESSURE (1)

Has the continuous pressure on now ex-President Claudine Gay got anything to do with racism and sexism? Almost a third of Harvard staff signed a document opposing her removal. She has also vehemently denied the current accusations of anti-semitism and plagiarism.

Since Ms. Gay assumed office as the first person of colour to be president of prestigious Harvard University, accusations have pursued her. The first accusation came from those who posed with her in her first picture as Harvard President, Lawrence Summers—himself a former Harvard President .

Obviously, Ms Gay fulfilled all the criteria to be president of such a prestigious institution. The fifty-three year old became President of Harvard in July 2023. She was selected from a crowd of six hundred candidates. She was Dean for several years, among other criteria.

Why select her into that position in the first place only to tear her down with political pressure? Who was it that was dissatisfied and kept mum till these past weeks?

No accusations came up till October 2023 when she was accused of not commenting on the Hamas war.

We believe the accusations against the first lady of colour to hold the top position in Harvard may carry racist undertones. (To be continued)
