Miss Japan 2024/5 returns the pageant title she won on 22nd January 2024. Karolina Shiino is twenty-six years old. She had the title for only two weeks.

First, Ms Karolina is actually Ukrainian born. Her family migrated to Japan in 2002 when she was only five years old. She is however a Japanese bred lady, having spent all her formative years in Japan. She is also a Japanese model.

But the first trouble was when she took part in the Miss Nippon pageant. A culture promoting pageant can not feature her. She should not be in the contest.The organizers did not relent. This is the age of diversity and it was time to show off this aspect of their country, was the defense of the organizers.

However, after Karolina beat fifteen other contestants to win the title, all hell broke loose. The citizens argue that one without Japanese ethnicity should not win a Japanese pageant title. More people condemned the organizers and judges. It was chaotic. Just because she was bred there did was not enough for her to represent them, they insisted.

Severance

Finally, an appropriate reason came up. Ms. Shiino was accused of having an affair with a married man. So, Karolina stepped down in the face of this accusation. Going a step further, she cancelled her modelling contract with her agency. She did not want any difficulties for them.

Ms Shiino apologized to the organizers, the family of the man she is accused of having an affair with and her talent agency. She hopes they can pardon her and move on with their lives, as she moves on with hers.
