AFRICAN FEMALE LEADERS OF TELECOM (5)

Pearlena Igbokwe-Robinson, the first African woman to lead a major US television studio(Universal Studios), brings this celebration of telecom’s leading African females to a close. Ms. Igbokwe-Robinson is the chairman Comcast’s Universal Studios Group. That covers Universal Television, Universal Content Productions, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Universal International Studios.

Ms Igbokwe-Robinson:-

Pearlena used to work with Showtime. (Showtime is a TV network) She was there for twenty years developing and overseeing several successful series like Dexter, Soul food, Nurse Jackie, State of The Union, to mention a few. As executive vice-president NBC entertainment, she developed these successful dramas-Blacklist, This Is Us, Blindspot.

Also, when she was President at Universal Television, they reached a new commercial success. Her program highlights include FBI Most Wanted, The Good Place, Russian Doll, New Amsterdam, to mention a few. She has the Midas touch with the business of entertainment.

Finally, Pearlena serves on the boards of Hollywood Radio, TV Society, National Association of TV Programming Executives and Television Academy Executive Committee. She has received many awards, honours as well in the course of her job.

Pearlena Igbokwe-Robinson is also a mother and wife.

To be honest, all of these amazing women have not only set a high standard, they have nullified many excuses we may give as women of colour. We also believe that these women were cheered on by their mothers and other women around them or the universe.
