AFRICAN WOMEN ON 2024 OSCARS RED CARPET (2)

We are continuing the celebration of African ladies at the Oscars. And we are starting off in no particular order, with the one and only, Angela Bassett. (Drum roll and in the voice of Henry Jones)

Angela Bassett received an honorary award at the 96th Oscars. In her royal purple, she looks her ageless, beautiful and fun mother and wife self. Yes, we said it. And we know it is true.

Coming in after her is, Erika Alexander who loves her mom and she gives her credit for every positivity in her life. We love her beautiful smiles and joyful laughter.

Next comes Issa Rae who was rooting for everybody black as always. We salute you Amazon. We envy and love your glowing fitness.

Davine Joy Randolph is an achiever. She has a Bachelor’s from Temple University, a Master’s from prestigious Yale and an Oscar from doing a great job.

Another Amazon, Danielle Brooks a product of the prestigious Juilliard School, added to the glamour on the Red carpet. She took an Oscar home too.

Really, Janelle Monáe should add, ‘Baby face or forever young’ to her name because she does not look older than she was ten years ago. Janelle is a model, actress and singer. That is plenty of gifts in a cute size. Her performance, “Come Alive”, opened the 92nd Oscars in 2020.

Next is Laverne Cox. Ms. Cox a producer, writer and advocate. She is one of the latest stars in the Barbie doll collection . Laverne became popular when in 2012, she played in “Orange is the New Black”, a series on Netflix. The elegant lady has Indiana University as her Alma mater. Her twin brother is Lamar Cox.

Did you notice the absence of Halle Berry? We missed her and hope she will be there next Oscars in 2024. Who did you miss? Share in the comments section below.
