TRAGIC NEWS FROM SOUTH AFRICA

Miss World South Africa, Dhiveja Sundrum Smith our African Queen, passed away on Sunday, 21st April after a brave battle with cancer. She was forty-one years old.

Dr. Smith won the Miss South Africa crown in 2004. She went on to represent the country at the 2005 Miss World Pageant. Late Sundrum made it to the semi-finals, being part of the top 16 at the event. South Africa was so close to the international crown and Dhiveja Sundrum made it possible. She was twenty -three years old back then.

Sadly, Dhiveja has been battling cancer for over three years. She thankfully finished chemo in 2021, only for it to resurface last year 2022.

Years ago, Dr. Smith completed medical school and married her heart-throb in 2012. She also worked with a TV station as presenter on the program -Top billing… Smith worked here till she passed away on Sunday. She was cremated on the next day, Monday the 22nd of April 2024.

Our prayers are with Dr. Sundrum-Smith’s husband, a beautiful daughter, father and friends and South Africans. She will be sorely missed.
